Mohammad Yazdani-Asrami holds a PhD in electrical power engineering. He spent the last 12 years on research and development projects related to electrical engineering in four different countries: Iran, Italy, New Zealand, and the UK. He worked for the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, from 2019 to the end of 2021. In 2022, Dr. Yazdani-Asrami joined the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK, as the lecturer in electrically powered aircraft and operations. Yazdani-Asrami's current fields of interest are cryo-electrification for modern transportation and applied superconductivity for large-scale power applications, including superconducting rotating machines, cables, fault current limiters, and transformers. He is a member of IEEE (MIEEE), IET (MIET), the British Cryogenic Council (MBCC), and the Cryogenic Society of America (MCSA). He is editor of Transformers Magazine. He also served as guest editor for several special issues in the IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity and Superconductor Science and Technology journals.
