Logistics tracking system based on decentralized IoT/blockchain platform

Abstract


The supply chain management system has always suffered from a lack of efficiency and transparency. Most of networks have encountered difficulties when trying to integrate all components (customers, warehouse, transportation, raw material production. Etc...). Hypothetically, all information about goods storage and transportation should flow clearly during all stages of the supply chain. However, this model or idea still encounters difficulties in maintaining a coherent and efficient supply chain, which has a negative impact not only on the profitability of businesses but also on the selling price of goods and services to the final consumer, especially in urban areas. Fortunately, some of the most pressing problems in supply chains can now be resolved through the use of blockchain technology, which offers new methods of recording, transmitting, and sharing data.

In this paper, we propose an approach based on blockchain and IOT to deal with a lack of product traceability and inadequate data exchange between parties, especially in urban areas.
